Madeleine Binkley
Associate, Dispute Resolution
Madeleine Binkley is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution team.
She joined the firm in November 2020 and acts on a range of disputes including several multi-jurisdictional cases.
She qualified in May 2020, having completed seats in tax, commercial litigation, and civil fraud at a smaller specialist disputes practice.
Madeleine has over seven years of litigation experience, having previously worked at a well-known FTSE 100 estate agency firm in their litigation department, handling a large caseload of debt recovery claims.
She also has experience in mediation and arbitration, acting for a variety of clients across different sectors including supercar dealerships and the aviation sector.
Recent experience:
- Acting for 27,000 Claimants affected by a significant oil spill in the Niger Delta in proceedings against an oil major.
- Acting in a complex matter regarding asset-tracing and contempt of court proceedings in respect of two wealthy individuals in the Middle East.
- Acting for three Defendants against 14 Claimants for alleged dishonest assistance in a Missing Trader Intra Community fraud claim for more than £70 million.
- Acting for an aviation client, specialising in the conversion of passenger to freight aircrafts, in an LCIA arbitration.
- Acting in group litigation matters against Volkswagen and Mercedes for the fitting of ‘cheat-devices’ in vehicles (at a previous firm).
- Undertaking costs budgeting work in respect of a client seeking a variation in approved costs.
