Senior Associate, Dispute Resolution
Helen joined Rosenblatt in November 2020.
She acts on complex commercial litigation ranging from contractual disputes to commercial fraud, negligence and nuisance claims and corporate, construction and insolvency related issues. Helen has a background in acting for high-net-worth individuals and entrepreneurs as well as corporate clients in a range of sectors, providing strategic legal advice in relation to disputes and mitigating and managing legal risk.
Helen has particular expertise in advising on and managing larger, high value and complex cases including through trial and into appeal proceedings. Her alternative dispute resolution experience includes mediation, pre-action and mid-action settlement negotiations and adjudication.
Recent experience:
- Acting for approximately 27,000 Claimants affected by a significant oil spill in the Niger Delta in proceedings against an oil major.
- Acting for an aviation business, specialising in the conversion of passenger to freight aircrafts, in an arbitration seated in London.
- Acting for an IP against a bankrupt, seeking to undo antecedent transactions.
- Acting for a global logistics client in a commercial fraud claim in deceit against Defendants obtaining unlawful credit in relation to goods transported via air and sea and subsequently defending appeal proceedings (Trinity Logistics USA Inc v Goonewardena and Others [2017] EWHC 2353 (Comm); Wolff v Trinity Logistics USA Inc [2018] EWCA Civ 2765)).
- Acting for a high-net-worth individual attempting to injunct a neighbouring aerodrome to restrain noise nuisance caused by helicopters, including in subsequent appeal proceedings (Peries v Bickertons Aerodromes Ltd [2016] EWHC 893 (Ch); 1120 (Ch); [2017] EWCA Civ 273).
