Harvey Rands is a consultant with the Dispute Resolution team, who specialises in litigation, arbitration, and resolution of disputes by mediation and regulatory investigations or disciplinary proceedings. He has dealt with disputes in company, financial services, banking and commercial law and professional negligence. Harvey has dealt with investigations and disciplinary proceedings conducted by the Financial Conduct Authority, the London Stock Exchange, and the Takeover Panel, and he has defended many prosecutions brought by the Serious Fraud Office.

Harvey is a CEDR approved mediator and has been named as a leader in his field for litigation/dispute resolution by Chambers UK for many years, which has praised him as “a big beast in the commercial litigation jungle, and he’s got a good instinct”. He has also been recommended in The Legal 500 UK as a commercial litigation lawyer who “demystifies legal issues”. Harvey led the Memery Crystal team awarded “Dispute Resolution Team of the Year” at the 2014 Legal Business Awards and “Litigation Team of the Year” at the 2014 Lawyer Awards.

Harvey joined Rosenblatt in 2021 from sister brand Memery Crystal.

Recent experience:

Acting for an Investment Fund in enforcement of a sample of Sovereign Debt Instruments from a holding in excess of Euros 1 bn issued by the Republic of Cuba in Commercial Court proceedings that will be tried over 10 days in October 2022.
Advising liquidators of an energy supplier in proceedings for recovery of damages in excess of £15 m for breach of contract by an international energy supplier.
Advising investors in a claim against solicitors for negligence tax advice.
Advising an Investment Fund in respect of potential claims against an International Bank
Advising the former owner of a Premier League Football Club in respect of claims by shareholders.
Advising a Football Club in respect of infringement of Trade Mark.
Advising property developers against claims for commission and profit share.
Advising a firm of solicitors on the exit of a founder.
