George is an Associate in Rosenblatt’s Dispute Resolution Department.
George qualified into the Dispute Resolution Department at Rosenblatt in September 2021 after having completed his training contract at the firm.
Recent experience:
- Acting for a UK national in a successful claim against a Lebanese bank for the return of deposits held by that bank (George Gabriel Bitar v Bank of Beirut S.A.L [2022] EWHC 2163 (QB)).
- Acting for the National Investment Bank of Ghana in successfully obtaining a declaration under s.72 of the Arbitration Act 1996 that an arbitrator who was appointed pursuant to an order of the Commercial Court under s.18 of the Arbitration Act 1996, had no jurisdiction to determine the Defendants’ claim against National Investment Bank for over US$300 million (National Investment Bank Ltd. v Eland International (Thailand) Co. Ltd. [2022] EWHC 1168 (Comm)).
- Acting for the founders and senior management of Corbin & King, in the successful opposition of a High Court challenge brought by the majority shareholder of the group to try and prevent them repaying senior debt (MI Squared Limited v Jeremy King and Others [2022] EWHC 331 (Comm)).
- Acting for an institutional investor in successfully opposing a proposed Part 26A restructuring plan for an AIM listed, oil exploration and production company (Re Hurricane Energy Plc [2021] EWHC 1759 (Ch)).
