Hannah Jones has experience acting on complex commercial disputes, often of a multi-jurisdictional nature.
She represents clients in litigation and arbitration concerning civil fraud, shareholders’ disputes, directors’ conduct, and contentious insolvency.
Hannah has also acted on insurance and regulatory claims. She has regularly appeared as sole counsel in the High and District Courts of New Zealand, including on behalf of the Crown in respect of criminal prosecution cases.
Recent experience:
- Acting for claimant broker in multi-million pound High Court claim regarding hidden trading.
- Advising creditor company in High Court proceedings concerning loan notes and associated security interests in Botswana.
- Acting for Luxembourg company in High Court trial regarding contractual dispute arising out of a Consultancy Agreement.
- Acting on High Court application pursuant to Hague Requests arising out of proceedings in the New York Surrogate Court to obtain third party disclosure and examine witnesses in order to trace assets of a deceased estate.
- Appearing as sole counsel for the Official Assignee in High Court of New Zealand to obtain orders for retransfer of company shares.
- Appearing as junior counsel for private liquidator in High Court of New Zealand to strike out interlocutory applications by third parties.
