Philip Alfandary

Tax

Rosenblatt’s tax team provides clients with tax planning advice and transactional support in all areas of business tax.

Philip Alfandary, a specialist in corporate tax for nearly 20 years, joined Rosenblatt in Summer 2014, having previously been Head of Corporate Tax at a national law firm.

“Prized for his knowledge of corporate transactions and VAT and SDLT” in the words of Chambers UK, Philip was appointed to the Law Society’s VAT and Duties sub-committee and has also been recognised as a leader in his field by Chambers UK and other legal directories. He provides advice on the full range of business taxes to a broad spectrum of clients, including large corporate clients, funds, SMEs, high net-worth individuals and property developers.

Tui and Savills have numbered among Philip’s large corporate clients, as has WH Smith, which he advised on the acquisitions of greeting card retailer Funky Pigeon and the 22-store business of British Bookshops and Stationers Ltd. He has also advised Sword, the international services and software group, on a number of transactions.

Philip’s experience in private equity and funds includes advising the management team of CloserStill Holdings Limited on a secondary buyout and investment by Phoenix Equity Partners, and Triodos Bank on its EIS and Microfinance funds.

Philip provides tax structuring and planning advice on real estate transactions, advising real estate funds and developers on SDLT and VAT, among other issues.
